Here are details of travel arrangements for school children on London buses and trams, London Underground and London Overground services.
Five to 10-year-olds
Buses and trams:
- free travel at any time on buses and trams, without a ticket or photocard.
Underground, DLR and London Overground services:
- free when accompanied by an adult who has a valid ticket
- when travelling unaccompanied, they must carry a 5-10 Oyster photocard to travel for free.
11 to 15-year-olds
Buses and trams:
- free travel when carrying a 11-15 Oyster photocard.
Underground, DLR and London Overground services:
- can travel at child rate when carrying a 11-15 Oyster photocard.
The 11-15 Oyster photocard is valid until the 30 September after the end of the academic year in which the child turns 16.
