The Council is structured into five directorates:
- Children and Young People
- Community Services
- Customer Services
- Regeneration
- Resources
Each of the Directorates has a strategy which covers a period of three years, (currently 2006-2009). These documents link together the Directorate’s strategic priorities, its budget decisions, and performance measurement to corporate priorities.
