So what exactly is electronic service delivery?
Central government and local authorities have a shared objective of making 100 per cent of services available electronically by 31 December 2005. This is known as the electronic service delivery (ESD) target.
Every year all local authorities report on the progress they're making towards reaching this target in their annual Implementing Electronic Government (IEG) return.
We measure our progress using Best Value Performance Indicator 157 (BVPI 157), which is one of the sections in the IEG return.
The IEG consists of the six sections that include:
- priority service outcomes
- change management
- ESD BVPI 157
- access channels take-up
- implementation expenditure
- efficiency gains.
