Telegraph Hill Assembly - 27 September 2008 meeting

Meeting overview

The second Telegraph Hill Assembly meeting was held on Saturday 27 September at the Telegraph Hill Centre. Forty people attended.

The format of the Second Assembly meeting was:

  • feedback from the First Assembly meeting
  • presentation of the 10 top issues that came out of the First Assembly meeting
  • voting for the top five priorities for Telegraph Hill
  • information and presentations on Locality Fund proposals
  • introduction of the Charter
  • updates from the community.

What we agreed

The attendees were asked to vote on their top five priorities. Votes were counted and fed back at the end of the meeting.

The top five priorities were:

  1. reducing crime and antisocial behaviour
  2. improving youth provision in the area
  3. improving facilities such as shops and businesses
  4. improving community cohesion
  5. cleaning up dirty streets (fly tipping and litter).

What happens next

The co-ordinating group will meet between now and the next assembly meeting in February to work on these areas:

  • developing the ward priorities into an action plan
  • drafting the Charter
  • planning the next assembly meeting.
