Priorities for Telegraph Hill
These top five priorities for Telegraph Hill were agreed at the 27 September 2008 meeting:
- reducing crime and anti-social behaviour
- improving youth provision
- improving facilities such as shops and businesses
- improving community cohesion
- cleaning up dirty streets (flytipping, litter).
The Assembly will develop an action plan to address these priorities.
Locality Fund
The Assembly has agreed on these projects for funding from the £10,000 Locality Fund for 2008-09:
- consultation for a sports / football area for young people, between Cley House and Sector J on the Honor Oak Estate - £250 (TRA Honor Oak and Lewisham Homes)
- contribution towards two community social excursions from Honor Oak Estate - £1,583.32 (Lewisham Homes)
- Honor Oak Youth Club funding for music equipment and new cooker to run cookery and healthy eating courses - £1,583.32
- young people’s carpentry workshop at the Honor Oak adventure playground - £1,583.32
- community coffee morning - £1,583.32 (Building Healthier Communities)
- Somerville and Friends Estate (saFE) Tenants and Residents Association Dream = Seen projects - £1583.32
- Hillaballoo event at Telegraph Hill parks - £1,000 (Telegraph Hill Society)
- new furniture for Honor Oak Community Centre - £1,583.32
- erection of plaque for the poet Robert Browning, in Telegraph Hill - £250.
