Priorities for New Cross
These top five priorities for New Cross have been agreed by the Assembly:
- crime
- poverty
- youth provision
- lack of community spirit
- rubbish and flytipping.
The Assembly will develop an action plan to address these priorities.
Locality Fund
The Assembly has agreed on these projects for funding from the £10,000 Locality Fund for 2008-09:
- community cohesion and parenting seminars - £1,460
- Transition Town New Cross - £800
- hanging baskets and planters - £2,000
- refurbishment of family unit garden at Playhouse Community Nursery - £900
- Sterling Gardens Residents' Association (events, administration and communications) - £4,400
- African drumming and dance programme ('What’s Love Got to Do With It?' and Ancestral Hands) - £440.
