Locality Fund
The following projects have been funded from the £10,000 Locality Fund for 2008-09:
- consultation on development of an area in Lewisham Park into a performing arts stage for young people - £500
- after school intensive virtual music studio course - £3,800 (StreetVibes Youth)
- freelance Hither Green Community Association part-time coordinator - £2,750
- Unity Supplementary School - £2,950 (African Welfare Organisation).
The following projects have been funded from the £10,000 Locality Fund for 2009-10:
- contribution towards Hither Green Week, May 2009 (Hither Green Community Association) - £1,730
- Making Waves in Lewisham (The Ahoy Centre) powerboat course - £2,250
- Welcome to Hither Green sign (Hither Green Community Association) - £2,200
- Ted Ray Scout Hall yard play area project (4th Lewisham South Scout Group) - £3,820
Mayor’s Fund
Mayor and Cabinet have agreed the following projects recommended by the assembly for funding from the £50,000 Mayor's Fund:
- Hither Green Community Association regeneration of Hither Green rail station - £5,000
- Grenada Benevolent Society - weekly social club for elders and Christmas event - £7,065
- Grenada Benevolent Society - talent and cultural event - £5,880
- Youth Village - multi-ward youth provision (Ladywell, Lewisham Central and Rushey Green) - £10,000
- Get the Message murals workshops - £4,965
- Tamil Academy of Language and Arts - cultural awareness classes - £8,000.
