Members are required by law to declare certain interests when they become a Councillor. These interests include the name of their employer; details of any land or house they occupy within the borough; interests in companies
and securities in which they have substantial interests which operate in the borough; and other financial interests.
Under the Council’s Code of Governance Councillors are also required to declare gifts they accept and any offer of a gift (whether accepted or not).
Details of each Councillor’s declarations is available for inspection by appointment during normal office hours at the offices of Governance Support. It is also available online.
Who is eligible
Any member of the public may inspect the register.
