Summary of objectives
- to coordinate what is done by each person or body represented on the board for the purpose of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the area of the authority
- to ensure the effectiveness of what is done by each such person or body for that purpose.
Frequency and location of meetings
Meetings are held four times a year and normally take place at the Town Hall, Catford, SE6 4RU.

Membership is not fixed and is drawn from:
- one representative from SLAM
- one representative from Lewisham Hospital
- one representative from Head of Adult Services, Director of Social Care
- two representatives of the Executive Director of Children and Young People
- one representative from Education and Culture
- one representative from CAFCASS
- one representative from Lewisham PCT
- two representatives from the Metropolitan Police
- one representative from VAL
- one representative from Probation
- one representative from Head of Crime Reduction
- one representative from Connexions.
