Requesting information

• The Data Protection Act gives you the right to see personal information that we hold about you.
• The Freedom of Information Act gives you access to all types of information.
• The Environmental Information Regulations give you the right to see specific information relating to such things as air, water and soil, as well as cultural and built sites that may affect the environment.

This means that when you request information from us, we must let you know whether we have it and, subject to certain exemptions, we must supply it.

These acts give us an opportunity to improve the ways in which we manage our data and we welcome them because we are committed to a culture of efficiency and openness.
