Lewisham has five directorates which operate together as one council.
Children and Young People
Executive Director – Frankie Sulke.
This directorate provides services for children and young people which safeguard life and welfare and promote life-chances and well-being, including:
- Children’s Social Care
- School Effectiveness
- Pupil Services and Youth Services
- Joint Commissioning.
Community Services
Executive Director – Aileen Buckton.
This directorate covers activities and services that support the social framework of the borough, including:
- Adult Social Care
- Libraries
- Cultural Services
- Supporting People
- Community Safety.
Customer Services
Director for Customer Services – Lesley Seary.
This directorate includes key public services serving large numbers of people on a daily basis and plays a leading role in all customer interaction. Customer services include:
- Public Services
- Housing management, private sector housing, homelessness, housing repairs and maintenance
- Environmental services
- Some other front-line services.
Regeneration
Interim Executive Director – Malcolm Smith.
This directorate is responsible for services directed at maintaining, sustaining and enhancing the physical and economic fabric of the borough, including:
- Capital projects
- Transport
- Planning.
Resources
Executive Director – Janet Senior.
This directorate covers three connected corporate services and functions:
- Resources (finances, legal support, asset management, personnel, ICT and procurement)
- Chief Executive’s Office (strategy, communications, partnerships, policy, performance and delivery)
- Support to the Mayor and councillors.
