Our ‘One Council’ approach aims to ensure that each resident can expect the same high level of service no matter which arm of the Council they come into contact with. We believe that our residents should be at the heart of the services we offer.
We aim to look at what we do through the eyes and experiences of customers and re-shape what we do in response. Doing the same thing for more people or more efficiently is not enough if we are not meeting people's needs and wants. The Council’s organisational structure enables us to respond more rapidly and flexibly to the needs of our ever-changing population.
The structure groups services together to help us focus on improving effectiveness and efficiency. With these structures in place, we can relentlessly focus on service performance.
The Chief Executive and Executive Management Team
Lewisham Council’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Barry Quirk. Barry is also the Government’s Local Government Efficiency Adviser.
The 'One Council' strategy is managed through the executive management team, which comprises the Chief Executive and five executive directors.
