Home to the renowned Goldsmith’s College and with quick tube and DLR access into the city centre, this part of the borough is vibrant and youthful. Deptford’s Market has been rated in the top five in London.
Deptford is also a major centre for culture and leisure. Creative hub status has been awarded to the area which proudly hosts the Made in Deptford festival, Deptford X, the Laban Contemporary Dance Conservatoire, Millwall FC, galleries, the Albany Theatre and historic St Paul’s Church.
The Moonshot Centre houses dance, IT and childcare facilities New Cross has a vibrant music scene. This part of the borough is set to be the focus for pre Olympic sporting and cultural events, including Tour de France in 2007.
